Jorge Domínguez González

My mother bouth me a small camera for my birthday in the year 2.000 and
I never imagined what I would eventually be able to do with it.

Jorge Domínguez was born in Tenerife, Canary Island ( Spain ) in 1984
with the camera that my mother bought me I started to take photos when I was 16 years old.

Two years later, I won the first prize in a local competition in Icod de Los Vinos
which it will motivate me to continue taking pictures. The next two years I will also
won the same competition, so I decided to make my first exhibition.

In November 2004 I did my first exhibition " Little Thoughts " in the Capital from Santa Cruz
of Tenerife. It was wonderful to see people who stopped and they contemplated my pictures.

In 2005 and 2006 I did my exhibition " Reflections " in Garachico and Icod de Los Vinos
both little towns in the north of the Island.

In 2007 I won a scholarship to go to Germany to make my practical, there I
would work with Kai-Uwe Gundlach one of the best photographers in Europe.

At the end of the year I did another exhibition together with Federico Ruiz
" artistic details " in a historical center "Casino Icodense".

At the moment I am the Director of CulturaenCanarias.om
a Cultural Website from the Islands and I am preparing my following exhibition.
